Here they are! Tim Holtz 2 tags of December

Yes 2 tags for December,. (I wish it were 12) but oh well..maybe I can go back through Tim's blog for the year and make each one he did Christmas oriented, that would be fun!!
I enjoyed lifting Tim's Christmas tags and the techniques were fun. I don't have those cool winter stamps he has so I had to make do with the snowman die!
Here are my takes on Tim's tags..

Happy Holidays!

A "Lively" wedding layout.

I am amazed at the versatility of the Authentique "Lively" collection! This set of papers, stickers and alphas was perfect for my nephew's wedding pictures. They had their reception at a lodge all decorated with tiny lights, paper chandeliers and candles. The bridesmaids and flower girl wore apple green. I used the sticker from the embellishment sheet that reads " Life itself is the most wonderful fairytale" isn't that the most perfect saying for a wedding!? I  backed the sticker with a small paper doily to accent the lace on the Camille's gown.
Tomorrow I will share a layout going a totally different direction!

November's DT work For The LOVE of Art

This week I am very happy to share the layouts and  other items I created with  the  Authentique "Lively" collection .  First let me give you links to the items in (fantastic) design team kit for November I received:
Petaloo Flowers and Pins, Freckled Fawn Washi Tape, Kaiser Craft pearl strips, Burlap sheet,
Maya Road Trim  and May Arts Mesh.
I loved the mix of supplies and since at first I was stumped as in how I was going to use the burlap I will start off with the card and tag I made from this months box of goodness.
  I took the following items...
1st I took a can of "June Taylor's Basting Spray" and lightly misted a piece of cardstock and pressed a piece of burlap onto it. If you would like any of these pictures enlarge just click on them.

Then I ran it through my "Vagabond" machine with the Tim Holtz sizzix butterfly mover and shaper die.
I liked the result so well I tried it again with a couple of more shapes.
Here is my finished card and tag.
I hope you enjoyed the little tutorial. I plan on making some more textured embellishments with the burlap.
Don't forget there is a fantastic sale in the For the Love of Art Store. Go there fast and check it out!
I will share on of my layouts tomorrow. I would love you to come back and take a look.

Awesome Time

When you are out and about do you notice places and  think "That would make a great picture spot?"
We happened across this little door stoop on our adventures around Niagara Falls, NY this spring. Julie was more than happy to do a little pose and a smile for me.  The "Vintage Market Place" collection by Bazzill has a great combination of colors and patterns and American Craft's "WOW" embossing powders in "Cotton Candy" and "Bubble Gum" coordinate with it perfectly. I used  clear embossing ink and a dot stamp and "WOW" embossing powder to  add some POP to some plain off white Prima flowers I topped them off with one of the Bazzill clear buttons for the center.

Purrfect Paper and cupcakes!!

The Bazzill Marketplace collection lends itself to a variety of layouts themes. For this layout I caught my daughter's kit Kanae sampling a cupcake. Yes she ate most of it..of course she loves frosting it is made with real butter! This is a cat..ooops sorry this is a toddler with a sweet tooth (I am being reminded constantly NOT to use the word cat in front of the "baby"). the calico kitten sticker is actually a "Marie" from the "Aristocats" that my daughter colored to match Kanae. and look at the clear Bazzill buttons--I LOVE those!

How to Tuesday...

I had a little fun with this layout. I got to work with  WOW! Embossing Powders - Suzy West Candy Counter Collection .  Sherrie sent me the "Cotton Candy" (blue) and the "Bubble Gum" (pink).
I used  Sizzix Chandelier die-cut, I used the "WOW" embossing marker to cover first the part I wanted blue in embossing ink-- put the blue on and heat embossed. then added embossing ink to the parts I wanted added the pink poweder then heat embossed and continued on with gold embossing powder and silver Stickles!   For the "Tea Time"  I stamped the tea pot with embossing ink and wrote the title with the embossing marker. I then misted the title plaque with Glimmer Mist. I love the way this new "WOW:" embossing powder is so opaque and really ads POP to the layout.

Bazzill Vintage Marketplace

Lucky me!! For my August design team supplies I got to work with Bazzill Vintage Marketplace 12x12 Paper Pack Collection This is wonderful collection full of terrific patterns and coordinating cardstock. For my first layout using the Marketplace collection I used a photo of my daughter Julie that I took in front of Cinderella's Castle in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Destination Disney!

Scrapping those pics from going home..

Photobucket You've just gotta love fawns and ladybugs! Photobucket Julie found this old Chevy Suburban she said it looks like "Tim Holtz" got a hold of it--very distressed (beat-up more like it). Photobucket And Tim's "Jalopy" diecut made the perfect accent. Photobucket
